A native of California, Isadore Hall III has held several high-ranking governmental positions in our community.
Since 2003, Isadore has served as a Compton City Councilmember. Isadore enjoys his service as a member of the ministerial team at Compton Double Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

Experienced, Dynamic Leadership
As a current Compton City Councilmember, representing the 4th District, Isadore works daily to improve the quality of life for his constituents. As the 4th District representative, Isadore serves on the Metropolitan Water Board, the Gateway Cities Council of Governments, and the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).
Isadore has also held the following positions:

Bringing Economic Opportunities to Compton Isadore knows how important economic development is to Compton and the 52nd District and believes in creating partnerships between the community and local businesses for the benefit of all. As a Councilmember, Isadore created the quarterly Business-2-Business Breakfast Roundtable to facilitate and strengthen these relationships. More than 200 people attend these events to learn how to start and grow their businesses, how to both collaborate and compete locally and what it takes to be successful in a global economy.
Isadore has also strengthened our economy :
- Created over 1,000 new jobs for local residents
- Developing Compton’s $80 Million Shopping Center with Best Buy, Home Depot, Target, Staples, Marshals and a 24 Hours Sports Center
- Provided raises for our city workforce
- Balanced and passed Compton’s budget on time with notable reserves
- Received our Enterprise Zone Designation bringing millions of dollars to Compton
Building an Educational Foundation In November 2001, Isadore was elected to the Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees where he served two consecutive terms as president (the youngest president in the history of the district). Isadore advocates better access to higher-paying jobs for our youth and he’s determined to ensure that our community’s children are provided the educational and vocational opportunities to prepare them for the fast-paced, technologically evolving workplace. In order to build the foundation of knowledge, which he believes every child needs, Isadore:
- Championed Measure I, which provided $80 million to renovate every existing school in the district
- Oversaw the opening of the first new elementary school built in the City of Compton in 35 years
- Successfully restored the Compton Unified School District to full local control after 10 years of state management
- Funded youth programs and added after-school services
Improving Our Quality of Life
Since the beginning of his public sector career, Isadore’s been committed to improving our day-to-day lives. Isadore efforts have greatly improved our standard of living. Some of these results have been:
- The reduction in crime by 50%
- A substantial reduction in graffiti
- The current development of a $20 Million Senior Citizens Recreation Center and 3 New Gated Housing Communities
- The employment of additional code-enforcement officers to keep our community clean and curb urban blight
