On City Council

Councilman Isadore Hall, III, elected to the Compton City Council in 2003, represents the Fourth District on the:

  • Metropolitan Water Board
  • Gateway Cities Council of Governments
  • Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG)

Working for the Community

  • Developed Compton's $80M Shopping Center with Best Buy, Home Depot, Target, Staples, Marshalls and a 24-Hour Sports Center.
  • Created over 1000 new jobs for local residents.
  • Developed a $20M Senior Citizens Recreation Center and three new, gated housing communities.
  • Funded youth programs and added after-school services.
  • Secured "Enterprise Zone" designation for Compton, bringing millions of dollars to the city.
  • Reduced crime by 50%.
  • Passed a balanced city budget on time with notable reserves.
  • Hired additional code-enforcement officers to keep our community clean and curb urban blight.
  • Reduced graffiti substantially.
  • Provided raises for our city workforce.
  • Created the Business-2-Business Roundtable to attract new businesses and to recognize existing businesses for their commitment to our community.

For Compton Unified School District

In November 2001, Isadore was elected to the Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees where he served two consecutive terms as president (the youngest president in the history of the district).

Relentless Force for Positive Change

  • Championed Measure I (which provided $80 million to renovate every existing school in the District).
  • Oversaw the opening of the first new elementary school built in the City of Compton in 35 years.
  • Successfully restored the Compton Unified School District to full local control after 10 years of state management.
