Dear Friends,

As you may already know, we were victorious in our fight on June 3rd.  After the thousands of dollars raised, the thousands of calls made and the many miles walked by our amazing supporters, we walked away with over 57% of the vote!

I can not fully express how humbled I am by the way in which the people of this district came together.  We received support that ranged from teachers to forestry workers, nurses to law enforcement, natives of Compton to supporters of Compton.  It has been an awesome experience.

You have furthered my sense that it is time for change.  We will continue to fight for workers rights, healthcare and education.  I will not rest until King Drew Medical Center is re-opened and Compton Community College is returned to local control and I will immediately start my fight against the policies of the governor that threaten the livelihoods of all Californians.

You have renewed my sense of urgency and our work begins today.
